Software Developer Intern – AI & Cloud Native Platforms
Location: Ottawa, Ontario or Mississauga, Ontario
Start: September 8th, 2026
Duration: 4-8 months
About this opportunity:
This internship offers hands-on experience integrating AI into real-world software development, testing, and DevOps workflows. We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us as Developer Intern.
What you will do:
- Assist in building and testing AI-powered skills to improve development and release productivity
- Support integration of AI into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Write and test code using Python and Robot framework
- Work within Linux-based development environments
- Collaborate with senior developers on cloud-native & AI-native microservices
- Explore tools such as AWS Q, Amazon Bedrock, LangChain
- Contribute to code reviews using Git/Gerrit/GitLab
- Participate in Agile team ceremonies and sprint activities
The skills you bring:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Applied Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- Basic proficiency in Python
- Foundational understanding of Linux as a development environment
- Familiarity with Git and version control concepts
- Genuine curiosity about Artificial Intelligence and its applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, positive, and eager-to-learn attitude
Preferred (Nice To Have)
- Coursework or project experience with CI/CD concepts
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Basic understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience or academic projects involving LLMs or AI tools
- Familiarity with GitLab, Jenkins, or similar build environments
- Knowledge of Java or shell scripting
- Interest in OSS/BSS or telecom domain

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is:
- Bachelors: $25.50/hr – $34.50/hr
- Masters: $37/hr
