The role is within the Hedge Accounting and Valuation and Timing (V&T) function of Treasury Finance, but the wider team also has responsibility for the Treasury Debt Issuance program. V&T is a unique area of the Bank which covers a multitude of product classes and the accounting complexities of spanning both an accrual and Mark to market valuation environment.

You will have responsibility for V&T reporting and analysis, understanding the complexity of the Profit & Loss (P&L) environment and learning how to accurately and seamlessly explain to senior management the outcome of the V&T monthly result, including the market drivers which can ultimately impact the Bank’s bottom line earnings by +/- €100m in any given month.

Your key responsibilities

• Continuously develop and streamline existing processes and where possible strategically on-board to KANNON (the Bank’s strategic valuation system)
• Work in partnership with Treasury, Corporate Bank/Investment Bank Businesses, Market Risk Management, Technical accounting, and Treasury to develop new Hedge Accounting Programs. This will involve writing papers, looking for available hedged items across the Bank’s balance sheet, and working with technology to build the programs out operationally in KANNON and IHAP (the Bank’s accounting system)
• Help support Production based activity, including month-end reporting and disclosures, as well as running and coordinating projects
• Work within the Issuance and Hedge Accounting Finance function with responsibilities related to running and coordinating the interbank offered rates migration program to new risk-free rates for Treasury Finance and supporting Production based Financial Control activity for Issuance and Hedge Accounting and forming strong relationships with our colleagues in Manila

Your skills and experience

• Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience. Accountancy Qualification is beneficial but not essential
• Accounting and financial analysis, reporting, P&L, management information system, Risk Management, Risk and P&L analytics skills required
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications, Visual Basic Analysis useful but not essential
• Relevant experience in a Finance function, such as P&L/Risk, financial reporting, and solid understanding of the workings within a Finance department (such as trade booking and P&L front-to-back process flow)
