Our HR Business Partner position is characterised by variety, and responsible for leading and managing the people-related agenda to improve organisational effectiveness. As a HR Business Partner you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and engage with different stakeholders. A wide breadth of HR knowledge and experience is required to coach and support leaders on a range of people matters and policies and embed best practices across DB Cargo UK through a time of business transformation.
This is a hybrid working opportunity with presence required across all regions in the UK, although based predominately in Yorkshire and the Midlands.

As a HR Business Partner at DB Cargo, your key accountabilities will be:
Key role in the implementation and delivery of the People Strategy and plan.
Lead role in supporting business areas and delivering the People Agenda via coaching and developing others.
Build strong relationships with leaders and their teams and be their main point of contact and trusted partner on all people matters.
A consultative approach, working proactively with senior leaders to understand and counter organisation challenges and opportunities.
Support organisation effectiveness through developing and implementing HR processes and ‘ways of working’ across the organisation.
Responsibility for a HR caseload.
Work with and challenge senior managers to identify opportunities for organisational design improvements that contribute towards organisational strategy and objectives.
Support leaders in building robust and effective talent and succession plans, ensuring a pipeline of talent across the business function from a mixture of internal and external recruitment..
Facilitate the development of local engagement plans that drive employee engagement and sustainable organisational performance.
Build and develop positive working relationships with Trade Union representatives and promote collaborative working at all levels across the organisation.
Manage HR Projects cross-functionally as required.
Support with the resolution of employee relations and advise leaders on HR-related matters and policies within the business.
Monitor, review and update HR policies and processes, ensuring these are in line with current legislation, meaningful and user-friendly.
Use data to identify trends, inform decisions, and proactively provide up-to-date people data and business intelligence.
Draw insights from available reports and information and identify, design, and implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement within the organisation.
Keep up to date with external trends and best practice to enhance the people processes of the organisation.
Facilitate and deliver training and workshops on different HR topics.
Take responsibility for the delivery of HR service excellence to managers and employees, and act as an ambassador for the HR department.
Strong HR generalist experience (min 5-8 years) with an in-depth understanding of HR fundamentals, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, compensation, development, and employee relations.
CIPD qualified.
Demonstrated passion for business through partnering with and supporting leaders to deliver on business results.
Experience from large multi-site organisation, preferably in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
The ability to build relationships and navigate a complex stakeholder matrix.
Good change management, facilitation and coaching skills.
Ability to take ownership and act autonomously, while also adopting a collaborative working style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Line management experience preferred.
Flexibility and adaptability to deliver results in a changing environment.
Resilient, self-driven, energetic, and have a ‘can-do’ mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility with working hours.
Willingness and ability to travel (national).
