Job Summary
We are looking for skilled and passionate engineers with experience in Frame, Chassis, Brakes, or Suspension design using CATIA V5. The candidate will be responsible for component and system-level design, 3D modeling, detailing, packaging, and engineering release activities for automotive programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive components related to:
- Frame & Chassis
- Braking systems
- Suspension systems
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA V5
- Perform tolerance stack-up and packaging studies
- Work on concept design, detailing, and engineering change management
- Coordinate with CAE, manufacturing, supplier, and testing teams
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards and GD&T practices
- Support prototype development and production release activities
- Participate in design reviews and issue resolution
- Prepare BOMs and technical documentation
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5
- Experience in automotive design and development
- Good knowledge of:
- Chassis systems
- Suspension geometry
- Brake components
- Vehicle packaging
- Manufacturing processes
- Understanding of:
- GD&T
- DFMEA
- Design standards
- Engineering drawings
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Qualification
- B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering
- 2–8 years of relevant automotive design experience
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to PLM tools such as Teamcenter / ENOVIA
- Experience with OEM or Tier-1 automotive projects
- Knowledge of sheet metal, castings, weldments, and machining processes
- Basic CAE understanding is an added advantage
