The Harmony Trust

The Board of Trustees wish to provide an opportunity for a HR Business Partner. We are looking for highly motivated candidates to become part of our Trust Central team. The post holder will be based working from home and will be required to support across the portfolio of all academies within the Trust ie travel to Derby/Oldham/Tameside will be expected on a regular basis.

The Harmony Trust was established in February 2014 and currently has 15 schools under the Trust umbrella. Reporting to the Head of HR, the successful candidate will work as part of the centralised HR Team providing an effective HR service and partnership to Academies within the Trust by developing a proactive relationship with Senior Leaders and Managers.

The post holder will work closely with these stakeholders to provide a proactive, efficient, and consistent HR advice service across the Trust advising on recruitment, provide reliable and accurate casework advice, monitor and practically advise on absence management solutions as well as provide generalist HR advice.

The successful candidate will lead on creating and delivering strategic resourcing plans including optimising attraction channels and employer brand activities, as well as conducting effective recruitment management information reporting so that the Trust can continuously improve the quality and value of the resourcing service.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) Level 5 qualification or equivalent (or to be currently working towards).
  • Experience of advising and coaching managers in employee relations.
  • Highly developed HR skills including coaching, mentoring, facilitating and influencing.
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and proposed legislation changes
  • Knowledge of Local Government / Teachers terms and conditions of service and how these impact on Payroll and HR practices and processes.
  • The ability to manage ER cases ‘end-to-end’, including attendance, capability, disciplinary and grievance cases
  • The ability to prioritise work and respond to the needs of the Trust.
