Finance Analyst

• VPS4: $90,067 – $102,192 per annum plus super
• Ongoing – full time (flexible working arrangements)
• Based in Melbourne CBD

About Us
The Investment and Technology Group delivers strategic oversight and management of DoT’s operating and infrastructure budget and provides commercial and information technology services to drive high performance and improved commercial outcomes for the State.

About the Opportunity
The Finance Analyst is responsible for undertaking a range of finance business partnering activities including financial budget and forecasting development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients in providing insight and advising on financial management issues to the clients.

Key Accountabilities

• Exercise professional judgement in undertaking a range of financial business partnering activities including budget and forecast development, actual financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and project/program financial management
• Provide sound advice, guidance and support to internal clients relating to financial business partnering services.
• Assist with audit queries related to payments, responses to ministerial queries and other requests are addressed fully and on time.

Key Selection Criteria

• Experience in working within a financial business partnering role and undertaking the financial budgets and forecasts development, financial performance monitoring, analysis and reporting, and financial management of projects/programs.
• Strong financial management and cost accounting knowledge and demonstrated understanding of the Department’s funding mechanisms and the State Government’s financial planning and budgeting processes.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
