About us

The Fines and Enforcement Services (FES) business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the Department) provides end-to-end management of infringement matters to the Victorian Government and a range of external enforcement agencies. The management and enforcement of infringements is critical to the effective and efficient operation of the criminal justice system in Victoria. The criticality of this function has been elevated following the introduction of Victoria’s Fines Reform Act 2014 (the Fines Reform Act), which will transition Victoria to a wholly administrative fines recovery model.

About the role

The Test Analyst is responsible for test analysis, design and execution of User Acceptance Testing. They will be required to assist in the Fines Reform business domain and document its business, processes or systems, assessing the business model and its integration with technology. The Test Analyst acts as a liaison among stakeholders to understand the structure, policies, and operations of the organisation, and recommends solutions that enable the organisation to achieve its goals.

In this role, you will:

• develop test plans with the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan
• prepare and execute test scenarios and test cases
• maintain test case versus test data matrix
• complete interface testing and create/execute SQL queries and XML data files progression where required.

This is a fixed-term role until 30 June 2023.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

• demonstrated high level of expertise and experience with best practice test management tools, processes, and methodologies
• strong knowledge of testing theory, methods, techniques and tools, and proven experience of integration testing and User Acceptance Testing in both Agile and Waterfall Delivery models
• demonstrated application testing experience with a strong emphasis on custom build solutions, from test planning through to test execution, with demonstrated knowledge of challenges and ICT trends
• strong knowledge & experience in Software Testing Lifecyle (STLC) including defect management
• exposure to automation testing tools (desirable)
• excellent stakeholder management and problem solving skills, with the ability to actively seek out new technology to enhance team systems.
