Chief Operating Officer Division The Chief Operating Officer Division supports the work of the department through the delivery of corporate and business functions spanning human resources, legal, communications, and property management. Together, teams in the Division provide expertise to lead and shape policy development, business improvement and program delivery to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of corporate outcomes for the Department.

Chief Information Officer Division The Chief Information Officer (CIO) Division Is An Exciting, Diverse And Dynamic Division That Drives The Digital Agenda For The Department. Leading The Delivery Of The Department’s Digital Offerings And Transformation, The CIO Division Partners With Business Areas And Stakeholders To:

• Realise the digital policy objectives of the department
• Define the department’s digital landscape
• Co-design digital experiences making it simpler to innovate, collaborate and communicate
• Drive the innovation and transformation of IT services

Communications Branch The Communications Branch sits within the Chief Operating Officer Division and plays a key role in supporting policy objectives and telling the department’s story. The branch manages a large number of communications channels and offers advice on all aspects of communications. It plays an important role in supporting our Ministers and the department’s Executive.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic team operating as a centre of excellence. We work closely and early with our policy and program colleagues to effectively communicate our strategic priorities. We take a content-focused, digital first approach to developing impactful communications.

ICT Operations Branch The ICT Operations Branch is one of three branches sitting within the Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) and is instrumental in the delivery of infrastructure and support to the department, running all ICT for the enterprise.

The branch is a fast paced and exciting part of the CIO portfolio, and the successful applicant will join a team providing key critical services to departmental staff and guiding their digital experience in the workplace. Our ideal candidate

What You Will Do

Digital Experience Engagement – Communications Branch

In This Role You Will:

• Provide strategic advice on the corporate digital channels and platforms, including websites, social media and newsletters.
• Deliver strategic projects to ensure content, websites, platforms and tools deliver on the department’s vision and remain fit-for purpose. This includes advice on digital communication strategy and user experience.
• Manage and administer one or more of the department’s platforms: industry.gov.au, consult.industry.gov.au, social media (dept. Facebook and LinkedIn, Twitter channels: industry, tech, science), business.gov.au, Swift digital newsletter platform, and the internal Readability Engine tool – as well as the department’s GovCMS web hosting arrangement.
• Partner with divisions to write content for websites and consult.industry.gov.au, including major publications and s for external publication.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders on content related matters, connecting whole of government initiatives to our business.gov.au website
• Contribute to the development of NPP’s for digital websites needed across the department
• Provide guidance on and coordinate corporate social media channels and lead the DISR Social Media Network.
• External digital channel development, governance and best practice, analytics and user feedback and analysis

In addition to the general skillsets identified, this role requires the following:

• Demonstrated ability to manage a number of digital platforms across websites, social media accounts and digital newsletters
• Outstanding communications skills, with a focus on digital communications
• Significant experience as a communications professional
• A strong understanding of communications best practice, including digital communications.
• Tertiary qualifications in Communications; Information Technology; or other related fields; or relevant work experience is highly desirable.

Infrastructure and Networks – ICT Operations Branch

In This Role You Will:

• Undertake the responsibility of maintaining, monitoring and consistently improving the DISR network and infrastructure platform.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership on ICT projects, architecture and initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with other areas within the department such as Property, Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security to deliver shared outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with external vendors to ensure essential enterprise services are being delivered to the Department.
• Manage problems and incidents within the ICT Operations branch in co-ordination with managers and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple data centres and communication rooms across the country.
• Support staff in their professional development and encourage skill sharing.
• Ensure service delivery is continuously improved and innovated.
• Manage and maintain contracts for externally provided services, licencing and hardware refreshes.

In addition to the general skillsets identified, this role requires the following:

• An excellent understanding of change management and the core business processes of the department.
• The ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and communicate with a range of stakeholders with varying technical knowledge.
• Experience with managing shifting priorities to deliver both operational and project outcomes.

Desktop – ICT Operations Branch

In This Role You Will:

• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the continued delivery of the department’s End User environment.
• Oversee physical ICT asset management including associated policy and operational tracking.
• Manage the provisioning of equipment for the onboarding of new staff, across Australia.
• Manage the Industry House ICT Service Hub in conjunction with the Corporate, Digital and Executive Support Services team.
• Proactively manage issues and risks, mitigating and resolving them to ensure successful delivery.
• Work collaboratively with the Chief Information Officer, General Managers and other section Managers to deliver the division’s vision and strategy.
• Develop and contribute to corporate ing, strategy development and executive briefing for a variety of audiences, including departmental executive.
• Represent your section, the Branch, and the division at a variety of forums, including Working Groups, Steering Committees, and other departmental governance forums.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.

Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
