Denstone College Music Department provides exciting and varied musical provision for both Denstone College, and The Prep at Denstone College. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Cello, and ideally Double Bass in addition, to join our team of visiting staff.

Music at Denstone is undergoing a new phase in development with the recent move of the College’s Prep School onto the main College site. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to be involved in shaping the singing life of both schools, and a willingness to participate, and potentially run, additional musical activities such as ensembles is essential. There are a wide range of concerts and events, and a very active range of co-curricular activities that are very well supported.

We are an integrated department that caters for all music making on the College site, and this post will involve teaching pupils from the Prep and the College. The ideal applicant will therefore have experience of teaching pupils throughout the 3-18 age range.

We currently have 4 pupils taking tuition, equating to 2.5 hours of teaching, and this can take place on any day of week – Monday to Friday. We would hope that the successful candidate will push the profile of the instrument, leading to further uptake, and they will be very much supported in this aim by the Department.
