About You

• Proactive, self-starter with great planning and communication skills, who gets stuff done
• Strong in modern architectures, technologies and CI/CD processes
• Understands the importance of delegating and enabling others, likes to expand other people’s knowledge, but is also keen and able to jump in and get stuff done, whether architecture designs, documenting solutions or guidance, or writing code
• Is egoless and is comfortable working with senior and junior employees
• Can distill complex problems into simple solutions
• Understands when and how to apply pragmatism and idealism, and is able to balance commercial and technical considerations to drive both short term and long term success for the company.
• Is comfortable working in greenfield and existing technology bases

Your role

• Join a small team of architects who oversee key architectural decisions in an engineering team of about 100 Dev/QE working on 6-8 products that use a range of technologies (C++, C#, VB.Net, Javascript, HTML, CSS), from desktop to web, monolithic to microservice, on-prem to SaaS. Knowledge in some of those technologies is great, but not required.
• Help define and drive the products and team to pragmatic modern commonality across architecture, technology and processes
• Ideally perform a team lead role for the architect group
• Report to Sr. Director, Engineering

We expect you’ll have learnt your trade by spending a few years working as a developer learning from others and learning from your mistakes in real world situations, have a broad understanding of different technologies with at least one from C++, C#.Net, VB.Net, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS and have some experience with modern RDBMSs.
