The Vale Academy are looking to appoint a Vice Principal to join our academy in April 2023 or sooner if possible on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Vice Principal, you will support the Principal and other SLT members to provide high quality leadership and management in line with the needs of the academy and ensure the academy runs at the most effective level possible.

Your new school

The Vale is a successful and high-achieving 11-18 academy which has an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes, which are consistently above those achieved nationally. Indeed, 2018 outcomes placed the academy in the top 5% of schools in England for overall progress and its attainment at 4+ and 5+ in English and Maths was the highest in the area. This high achievement has also been sustained in 2019 and through centre assessed grades in 2020 and teacher assessed grades in 2021. Provisional results for 2022 see this trend continuing with students’ performance in science being significantly above national averages.

The academy is situated in Brigg, North Lincolnshire and serves a largely rural community. Brigg itself is a historic market town on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Many of our students travel a considerable distance to school.

In January 2017, the academy moved into a new building which provides state of the art facilities and an outstanding learning environment for both students and staff. The Vale also offers an extensive and varied programme of extra-curricular activities to support a rich and rounded education, both within and beyond the classroom, and has a particular specialism in music.
