Our Insurance IFRS 17 Centre of Excellence (IFRS 17) team within Audit & Assurance works collaboratively across our various areas such as audit, accounting technical, actuarial, systems and technology and risk and controls. We operate in a number of key areas, including interpretation and application of IFRS 17, financial reporting change and systems implementations and project support.
We use our specialist skills and our global reach to help our clients navigate the compliance requirements of IFRS 17, tailored to the specific needs and vision of each one of our clients and with a view to generating sustainable improvements in the finance function.
What will your typical day look like?
You will work on IFRS 17 transition engagements playing a key role in assisting clients with their transition to IFRS 17
You will work collaboratively with the other members of the IFRS 17 team and with our colleagues in audit, accounting technical, assurance, actuarial, technology and project management to bring together the expertise and tailored solutions needed to guide our clients through IFRS 17 implementation
You will have exposure to clients in terms of delivery of service and coordination of support, leveraging the support functions already in place
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:
Chartered Accountancy qualification (or similar) and strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including preparation of insurance financial statements
Experience of IFRS 17 including an understanding of the technical interpretation and practical application
3-6 years of knowledge and experience of insurance accounting with a particular focus on financial reporting
Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills and previous experience with developing the capability of individuals, and leading teams to deliver high quality client outcomes
A problem solver with a talent in synthesising complex issues, understanding broader implications and knowing when to escalate issues
Strong planning and coordination skills to support local and globally collaborative working and operating across multi-functional projects
