About the team

Meet the National Finance team – a multidisciplinary team of accountants and technical experts that essentially keep the company running. We provide strategic business and financial advice, management reporting and accounting support to Deloitte. What will your typical day look like?

Reporting to the Business Finance Lead, this role will contribute to the provision of strategic business and financial advice, management reporting and accounting support to the Business.

You will partner with senior stakeholders and gain a strong understanding of the Business and their financial and operational goals. Supporting our Consulting business, you will also contribute to the development of business strategic initiatives, financial policies and procedures and financial objectives. By leveraging your prior experience and strong commercial acumen you will provide value-add insight to the Business Finance Lead and Business leadership.

Specifically, you will be involved in:
Weekly and Monthly financial processes – Provide value-add insight to key stakeholders, on performance against financial plan, forecast and other relevant metrics.

Business Partnering – Develop and maintain constructive and trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and develop a deep understanding their financial and operational goals and provide strategic insight and analysis in support of these goals.

Strategic Support – Actively contribute to the setting of the strategic objectives of the Business; including engaging in financial discussions and ensure strategic initiatives and projects are overseen and reviewed.

Forecasting – Review forecasts in detail, identify issues and proactively escalate and provide information to aid the Business Finance Lead in ensuring forecasts reflect realistic expectations

Planning – Coordinate and monitor the planning process through trend analysis on historical data, analysing the variances between plan and current year forecasts and identification of financial performance improvement opportunities

To succeed in this role you’ll be a natural collaborator with strong negotiation and influencing skills, leveraging a strong accounting background. With proven experience in working with senior business stakeholders, you’ll be passionate about contributing to driving business outcomes.

You’ll also have:
Demonstrable commercial acumen, and the provision of value-add insight

5+ years’ experience in a Commercial Manager or Finance Business Partnering role

Tertiary Finance qualification

CA/CPA qualified

Excellent communication and the ability to communicate financial information and concepts to stakeholders in common business language

Robust financial support, including delivery, review and analysis of financial results and the provision of insightful management information

Development of effective business partnering relationships with key Business leaders
