Delaware North Hiring for HR Director at Uxbridge Full Time

Delaware North is hiring a HR Director to lead HR for our UK Sporting, Event and Travel Hospitality business. This is an amazing opportunity to lead our people programmes in the UK while working on strategic HR programmes as part of the global HR team. With an incredibly exciting and busy calendar of events ahead in 2022, supporting the operational delivery of the people agenda will be pivotal to success.

As the HR Director, this person will operate within a matrix role, reporting to both the Chief Human Resources Officer in the US and the Managing Director of the UK business. They will therefore be required to build strong relationships with all key US HR leaders, ensuring they have ‘a seat and voice’ at the right tables, balanced with strong partnering relationships with the senior leaders in the UK operating business and centralised functions.

A day in the life as the HR Director:

• Be actively involved in the design of the strategic direction of the business moving forward
• Expertly participate in the creation and ongoing development of global company-wide people initiatives, representing the international arm of the business
• Through the HR Centres of Excellence, this individual will need to interpret, modify, socialise, and deliver the people agenda in the UK
• Provide strong leadership to the local UK HR team, where all functional leads have matrix reporting lines to their relevant teams in the US

What we’re looking for:

• At least 1-3 years previous experience operating at HR Director level
• The individual will need to be comfortable working independently and be self-driven
• They will and able to set up their local people agenda in partnership with the operational leadership teams
• Should be comfortable in challenging the status quo
• Experience of working in a business model with contracting, and a temporary workforce will be of a significant advantage
• Proven ability to work across multiple functions in a matrix environment and coach, consult, partner and influence leaders and peers across the organisation.
