Helpdesk Team Lead
Day Rate: c.£400pd DOE (Inside IR35 Contract)
Length: 3 Month Contract
Hybrid Working: 3 Days in Central Oxford per week

As a preferred recruitment partner to one of the most prestigious institutions in the world, we have been asked to assist in the hire of a contract IT Helpdesk Team Lead.

In this role you will provide leadership to and help manage the day-to-day running of a small helpdesk team, as well as getting involved in leading and making decisions in relation to ongoing IT project work within the department.

The Role

• Provide Leadership to the Helpdesk / Service Desk Team by supporting its day-to-day running
• Provide Leadership on Projects to support the IT Delivery for an ongoing refurbishment project
• Alongside other senior engineers, acting as a point of escalation for junior team members

Experience / Skills

• Experience being a senior member of, or leading a Helpdesk / Service Desk / IT Support Team
• Experience providing leadership/input on IT project work (knowledge of project management methodologies and IT Service Delivery useful)
• Understanding / Overview of the following technologies (don’t need to be hands-on)
  • IT Systems Design, Implementation and Management
  • Desktop and Server Computing – Windows, MacOS, Linux
  • Networking – TCP/IP Networks, VPNs, Firewall Solutions, DevOps Processes
  • Version Control Systems to support system management
  • Systems Security and Data Protection
  • IT Systems Design, Implementation and Management
  • Virtualised computing infrastructure and private clouds
  • IT Service Provision in educational sector beneficial
  • Scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python beneficial
  • Web application hosting, development, and databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL)

Hybrid Working: This role requires an on-site presence in the office at least three days per week on average, therefore candidates should be located within a commutable distance of central Oxford and be able to offer flexibility with regards to the days they come into the office.

Inside IR35: This contract is offered on a PAYE basis (via an umbrella company). The day rate offered is c.£400pd and this is the total amount we would pay your nominated umbrella. It is inclusive of holiday accrual and employer pension contributions. All statutory deductions (both Employers and Employee NI, Income Tax, Apprenticeship Levy, etc.) will be deducted from this figure.
