Location: 388 Pine St, Burlington, VT 05401

The Position Relative to Dedalus:

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting with the activities of the overall general accounting function. Will implement and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and policies. This position ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and acts as liaison between departments, the company, government, client, and CPA auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained.

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Developing, implementing and/or maintaining a combination of business systems that interact with generally accepted accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Shopify, DEAR Inventory, various online banking portals)

· Performing basic accounting procedures (e.g., A/R, A/P, daily sales receipts, tax payments, inventory control)

· Assisting CFO with financial statement preparation and month end and quarterly closing

· Maintaining a consistent and efficient multi-unit inventory database, working closely with the Product Pipeline and Ecommerce departments (e.g., creation of products across relevant systems, maintaining and troubleshooting inventory movement systems)

· Monitoring and reviewing all record of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions

· Assisting CFO in performing all basic accounting procedures, financial statement preparation, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, inventory roll forwards, and fixed assets and margin analysis; preparing supporting schedules for financial statements preparation

· A/R – creating and issuing wholesale invoices, communicating with customers to address any past due invoices, etc.

· A/P – booking bills in Bill.com, coordinating with product receivers, communicating with vendors to address any billing issues, etc.

· Reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling general ledger accounts in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management

· Perform analysis of operations monthly

· Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Certificate or better in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field

• Exceptional organization and time management skills

• Work independently

• High attention to details, ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work

• Basic database and spreadsheet experience, 10key by touch, calculator

• Able to enter accurate financial /numerical data

• Analytical and critical problem-solving skills

• Basic knowledge of MS Office Word and Excel, QuickBooks, or other accounting software

• Advanced computer and typing skills

• Ability to apply discretion, trust with confidential company information
