Job Responsibilities

Work with clients to gather business requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop BI and data warehouse (DW) strategy.

Develop and write business requirements, functional design, and technical design for the solutions

Review and analyze commonly used queries and reports

Research business problems and assist in the creation of models that help analyze and mitigate these challenges.

Work with business and development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.

Participate in the analysis of functional business processes; assist in the development of business cases to support process changes and/or technology solution projects.

Create Reports and Dashboards to provide users with the KPIs, metrics, and information needed to manage their business

Analyze source data, identify data quality issues, and make recommendations for short-term and long-term remediation.

Required Skills and Competencies:
BS. in Computer Science or related field with 3 to 5 years inexperience.

Experience with Qlik is required.

A minimum of 3 years related experience in designing and creating information management and presentation objects using stored procedures, triggers and views using MS SQL Server.

3+ years of MS SQL Server (2008/2012/2014), Transact-SQL, Aggregate functions and operations, and Query Optimization tools and techniques including indexing

Experience designing and implementing data visualization solutions leveraging Qlik, Tableau, MS Analysis Services, or similar software.

Ability to create a design, data flow, and operational documents using Visio, Word, and/or Excel

Experience in mapping data from disparate data sources such as flat files, databases, Excel, XML files, and/or unstructured data.

Experience working in a tightly version-controlled and process-oriented environment with a specific focus on the financial services industry

Well organized, extremely detail-oriented, and have great communication skills, both oral and written

High energy, positive attitude, professional and mature

Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Ability to ensure timely communication of any project-sensitive information to project leadership

Ability to confidently speak with external clients regarding approach, data mapping, process design, etc.

Willingness to enlist assistance as well as to provide it so as to maximize overall team productivity and collaboration

Demonstrated competency for adapting to new environments, quickly grasping overall architecture and key components

Experience and ability to reverse engineer complex databases, understand complex data structures and data, and ability to data map between different relational databases.

Ability to quickly assess existing design strengths and weaknesses and effectively communicate risks and potential opportunities for improvement.

Provide guidance and insight into developing quality assurance test cases to validate data load processes. Experience with creating automated data comparison routines for automated testing and internal audits.
