The Opportunity

As part of our continued global growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for an experience Head of Finance to join our Australia / New Zealand operation. The successful candidate will provide strategic support to the ANZ business and ensure that internal controls and safeguarding of assets procedures and policies are implemented and monitored. The Head of Finance will also oversee submission of the monthly Finance reports to Group through HFM and other ad hoc reports as required.

Reporting to the General Manager and part of the site leadership team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring the local finance team, providing continuous development and support.

Main Responsibilities

The Challenge

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

• Provide strategic support to the General Manager, including project and investment analysis as required
• Submit local monthly sales and additional information to Hyperion and other Group systems in accordance with the Group timetables
• Produce monthly sales analysis for the Commercial managers
• Coordinate monthly Balanced Scorecard reporting to local Management Team
• Provide monthly reports to department owners to assist with cost control monitoring and assist with identifying cost efficiencies, for both operating costs and capital expenditure items
• Compilation of annual budget, reforecasts and strategic plan for submission
• Manage annual manufacturing cost calculations
• Act as local liaison for external auditor and external tax advisor
• Take the lead to produce the consolidated Australian Group statutory accounts and supporting schedules
• Oversee submission of local monthly trial balances and additional information to HFM and other Group systems in accordance with the Group timetables
• Monitor inventory and working capital days along with local Management Team
• Ensure that a control environment is implemented and continuously monitored that complies with the Dechra Baseline Controls and Delegation of Authority Matrix (DOA), and safeguards the assets of Dechra ANZ

About You

• Good written and verbal knowledge of English
• Accounting Qualification (Or Equivalent)
• Knowledge of Epicor and Xero ERP
• Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management and/or Hyperion Planning and Budgeting
• Relevant working experience in a finance position within a manufacturing organisation is highly desirable
• Significant experience with financial analysis and reporting on KPI’s
• Ability to clearly and convincingly present and communicate on the outcome of financial analytics and drive relevant process change, behaviour or actions across the business
• Understand key metrics that drive financial performance
