Due to company growth, Decavo is seeking the addition of a_ Manufacturing Design Engineer _to join their team in the_ Hood River, OR _Area!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Interface between Engineering resources and Production Leadership to define and prioritize product and process improvements
• Communicate with Team Leads to discover areas of difficulty or uncertainty in their respective processes
• Evaluate production technical readiness for new products or methods
• Track New Product Developments and assist in coordinating engineering and production resources to improve product flow.
• Improve communication between Manufacturing and Engineering Teams to synchronize expectations
• Communicate schedule and needs between teams
• Communicate issues and/or needs to management team effectively
• Lead interdepartmental meetings as needed
• Communicate effectively with customer technical teams and personnel
• Provide Engineering based solutions to Manufacturing; specifically, regarding process efficiencies, tool, and environmental usability’s, in process quality and process development.
• Training personnel in information technologies, drawing interpretation and quality requirements, etc
• Advocate and implement solutions to improve information usability and quality
• Evaluate current processes and help to develop best methods and practices.
• Develop new methods and technologies that improve capability and product.
• Design solution and/or new tools to alleviate constraints within processes.
• Evaluate new technology that would improve Manufacturing’s capabilities, process understanding and workflow
• Be a strong advocate for Manufacturing’s needs to the Engineering and Management teams
• Evaluate new product packages and identify issues and concerns
• Provide feedback and solutions to recurring issues and concerns.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Great team player with good inter-personal skills and work ethic.
• Must be a self-starter, self-managed, an effective team player and possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
• BS in Engineering or another Technical Field
• 3+ years’ experience in CAD/Solid Modeling (Solidworks preferred) and technical package interpretation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T. (Advanced on the job training can be provided.)
• Understanding of composites processes and materials, aerospace product requirements and AS9100 environments
• Strong use of Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience required.
• Eligible candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or otherwise eligible U.S. person
