Position: PLTW Biomedical Sciences Teacher for High School

Date of Vacancy: Begin the 2023-2024 School Year (August 2023)

Filing Deadline: April 1, 2023, or until filled

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Education Indiana

License in Biology or Life Science

PLTW Biomedical Sciences Certification Preferred

Experienced in the use of educational technology

Great organization and communication skills

Performance Responsibilities:

Implement all of DCCS policies as they relate to the classroom.

Support the mission, vision and goals of DCCS and SDHS.

Design, implement and assess curriculum consistent with state standards.

Encourage students to think critically and be independent learners through hands-on inquiry based laboratory experiments and projects.

Supervise students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.

Coordinate Biomedical Sciences curriculum with colleagues.

Willing to continue education for needed certifications.

Work with colleagues to gather & review data that reflects efficacy of instruction and adjust instruction accordingly.

Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives and with the maturity and academic level of the students.

Establish and maintain parent-teacher communications when necessary through conference and phone calls.

Pay Rate: As per current Teacher’s Contract
