Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.

Job Description
-Reporting to the HR Principal – Organisation Design, the HR Specialist – Organisation Design is part of a small team responsible for undertaking complex organisation design projects across all Steelmaking coal operations in Australia.

Key Accountabilities include:

• Support the delivery of the business purpose and ambition by providing analytical and business expertise in OD projects to design the right work, roles and structures optimise business teams and functions.
• Provide justifications and recommendations to the OD Principal and other senior management about org design activities to ensure the right people, in the right roles are performing the right work to deliver business goals efficiently and effectively. Work with Met Coal Site HR teams to ensure that the organisation model principles and standards are understood and applied across the organisation effectively.
• Support the learning development activities and development of the OD program to deliver for different stakeholder groups.
• Support the HR Principal – Organisation Design to provide project management and SME advice to build HR excellence in people systems, design of work, roles and structures and support the development of HR discipline capability frameworks and links to identification of potential and development options.

• Qualifications
  -Degree qualification in related field combined with experience in Human Resource Management ideally within a complex service delivery and heavy industry environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills to positively engage and collaborate on project activities.
• Exposure to the concepts and principles of defining work, roles and matching capability of people to these.
• Strong detail and analytical focus and ability to think critically and creatively to come up with practical business solutions.
• Knowledge of Organisation Model concepts.
• Ability to be able to work effectively and collaboratively in project teams to achieve collective outcomes.
• Effective communication and influencing skills to ensure effective interactions with other people to achieve productive outcomes and build effective relationships.
• Establishes and nurtures relationships with stakeholders, by use of effective listening and questioning to better understand the other person or group.
• The drive, determination, persistence, and commitment to apply the other elements of capability to complete safe, sustainable productive work.
