Job Description
-The purpose of this role is to support the design and implementation of finance transformation opportunities. This role will initially support the existing team with the development and deployment of existing finance transformation projects, and will form part of the team that continue to evaluate for further continuous transformation of our finance function.

The purpose of the Design and Integration Specialist role is to:

• Design finance transformation initiatives to improve finance processes and our control environment. This will include transformation of processes within our financial planning, financial modelling, and financial reporting processes.

• Support the business requirements & process definition and provide input into the deployment and change management activities required to ensure the successful delivery of the workstreams.

• Partner with Finance Business Improvement, People & Organisation and Change, Group Finance, Global IM and Business Units.

Key Tasks

Performance & Delivery

In conjunction with the wider team, you will be responsible for:

• Working with the existing team and key stakeholders (including IM, BU Finance teams, and external resource) to assist in the planning, design and deployment of finance transformation initiatives
• Use an accounting and finance background to review finance transformation initiatives and ensure they are fit for purpose
• Working as part of the team within Finance to translate existing solutions, spreadsheets, and business problems into automated or standardised models
• Presenting the benefits of finance transformation opportunities to key stakeholders, including improving efficiencies and creating a more robust control environment
• Assist with the build and support of complex planning and forecasting models
• Be actively involved in discussions with Group and BU Finance functions to understand business requirements and required outcomes for transformation solutions
• Partner with external consultants and SI partners to implement, optimise, and maintain technology solutions deployed to support Anglo American’s Finance function

Other Requirements to perform the work effectively

• Some travel maybe required

Qualifications
-Degree in relevant discipline and/or professional qualification, e.g. degree in accounting, business administration or management information systems, CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent

Technical Knowledge:

• Experience in systems/process design and financial modelling
• IFRS policy and SOX ICFR technical skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience/ knowledge of mining industry – desirable
• Project management experience – desirable
• Experience of developing solutions within SAP tools and orbital systems (such as, but not limited to BlackLine and Anaplan)- desirable
