Job Description
-The De Beers Institute of Diamonds was set up by De Beers Group in 2008 and is designed to focus on bolstering consumer confidence across the diamond industry. Focusing on providing premium grading and melee testing services the company seeks to find ways to increase consumer confidence via our B2C customers, mainly consisting of Sightholders and Retailers.

In 2017, our Education Service was launched to bring a new style of modern and innovative learning to students both externally as well as our internal team members. Currently we sell 6 courses to the trade:

• Introduction to Diamonds: a 3-hour short online course targeting retail staff
• Diamond Foundation Course: an extensive 24-hour online course designed to showcase the full diamond pipeline for those working in senior industry roles
• Introduction to the 4Cs Workshop: a 1-day hands-on workshop discovering how to grade the 4Cs, and learn the impact that this has on diamond pricing
• Polished Diamond Grading Course: an extensive 3-month online course, followed by 1-week in a laboratory setting, this course is designed to create the diamond graders of the future
• Synthetic Diamond Detection Course: a 1-day workshop focused on learning how to positively identify natural diamonds from their lab-grown counterparts
• Rough Diamond Experience: a 1-day workshop learning how to sort and value rough diamonds. A unique De Beers experience.

We also provide education and training for additional areas of the business, to support the wider work that De Beers does:

• Diamond Pipeline Course: A 5-day experience in London which is designed to showcase the full diamond pipeline to local Hatton Garden students. This forms part of our commitment to the development of the local diamond industry and is worth £100k each year.
• Code of Origin: the education team is responsible for the development of all materials related to the training of Code of Origin. This includes training for De Beers staff, Sightholders, Manufacturers, Designers and Retail.
• Development for Brand staff: we run regular seminars for our brand teams, so that they understand more about the grading and selection of diamonds which fit into their brands

The remit of the Education Service team is to design, build, launch and then promote each course to relevant customers and achieve a set education revenue budget each year. Working closely with local teams in global markets, we deliver courses globally wherever possible (limited) and push online sales across the world.

We manage multiple delivery mechanisms in our education service:

• Kentico – our global platform which houses all eLearning courses as well as providing our online payment gateway and booking service for laboratory-based courses.
• WeChat – for China we operate a selection of courses in partnership with the NGTC. This allows online courses to be delivered by WeChat, and lab-based courses to be run at NGTC locations.
• Trade Shows – we attend events globally and look for opportunities to deliver educational courses to those who would not ordinarily be able to attend a De Beers location

Qualifications
-The Role :

The Education Executive role is the key support of administration management for the Director of Education. They will help to manage the various activities which link to the Education strategy and form the main point of contact with students and tutors daily.

General Administration

• Manage the calendar and organisation of all lab-based courses in the UK (room bookings, security clearances, tutor availability, certificate management, kit, and diamond stocks) and work closely with local staff in the USA, Belgium, and India to support them to achieve the same. This will include attending all courses in the UK to provide support on the day.
• Interact with students attending lab-based courses and ensure that all joining instructions are communicated clearly as well as feedback after courses have been completed.
• Manage all offline invoicing and reconcile online purchases with our finance team on a regular basis.
• Act as the main contact for Braintree (our online payment gateway).
• Work closely with agencies to create translation materials for courses as required.

Systems Based

• Take on the role of global ‘Super-User’ for our new eLearning platform (Nivac) and support the build process and migration from our current Kentico platform.
• Work closely with our Digital Education Content executive to ensure that all assets within the global site are operational.
• Provide UAT support when required for new launches or phased releases (in the case of the online system)
• Act as a key point of contact between all agency suppliers including UMS (China), Braintree (USA), Nivac (France), PrintRoom (UK) and Nuccobrain (UK) as well as others who come on board
• Manage all communications into the Education inbox and seek input from subject matter experts where required to provide answers to enquiries.

Course Development:

• Work alongside the wider education team, to further adapt existing online course content (via an online authoring tool).
• Support the creation of offline materials for Education Service courses as well as additional retail training/CoO services.

Personal Attributes

Personal Competencies:

• Team player, with a confidence to involve themselves in a variety of tasks from very detailed creative thinking, to repetitive complex administration
• Ability to adapt to last minute changes or reviewed schedules/goals
• Good manner with customers via telephone/Teams as well as in person and email
• Able to work remotely without direct supervision

Technical:

• Previous experience of using any LMS or content authoring tools would be an advantage
• Use of SAP an advantage, but Excel skills must be good
• Use of PowerPoint required, other design packages would be an advantage
• Language skills would be an advantage
