Why we’re hiring
We’ve got lots of recruitment planned for this year, building on last year’s growth and we’re looking for someone to help us find and attract the right people for the next stage of Dayshape’s journey.
Although we’ve got an amazing team of people and a great working culture, we’re not always the best at promoting this (humility is one of our accidental values!). We’re looking for somebody who can focus on recruitment and provide the hiring manager with the support required to fill vacancies with the best candidates. You will be able to collaborate with other functions to help us strengthen our employer branding and effectively communicate our values to increase our overall pipeline of candidates for each advertised role.
It’s a great opportunity for somebody who wants to help us shape and improve our processes, ensure all candidates have a great experience, and really lead us through the next stage of talent acquisition.

What you’ll do
The person in this role will be responsible for:

• Ensuring we’re bringing in the right people at the right time
• Ensuring all candidates have an excellent experience
• Broadening our channels for talent acquisition, conducting direct search to find the best candidates for our vacancies
• Identifying and delivering on opportunities to improve diversity of candidates and inclusivity of the recruitment process
• Supporting hiring managers with our in-house recruitment cycle, including advice, training, and recruitment admin
• CV and phone screening candidates
• Supporting the delivery of an employer brand strategy
• Able to provide feedback and improvement opportunities for our recruitment processes and communications
• Managing relationships with external recruiters
• Monitoring, and improving recruitment KPIs
• Managing candidate offers and references

• Monitoring and maintaining of the ATS

About you

• Experience in in-house recruitment across the full hiring cycle
• Knowledge of recruiting passive candidates – identifying and engaging with top talent
• Experience using an ATS (we currently use Workable)
• Strong knowledge of Boolean, x-ray search
• Knowledge of sourcing tools
• Strong screening and/or interviewing skills
• Knowledgeable about recruitment-related compliance (e.g. right to work, Equality Act)
• A bias for action, with demonstrable experience proactively taking initiative to improve systems and processes
• Adaptable and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with owning the whole recruitment process, moving between administrative and strategic tasks as required
• Highly organised and detail-oriented (you almost never miss something!)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong relationship-builder, able to work collaboratively across departments, building trust and influence at all levels of the business

• Sound judgement – making assertive decisions about sensitive matters with compassion and discretion

Bonus points if you have

• Passionate about creating a great place to work, driven by a people-first attitude
• Experience in a startup (or similar) environment where you’ve developed and implemented new processes from scratch
• Experience recruiting within a software company
• Experience in talent search for technical roles (e.g. software engineers)
• Familiarity with Workable specifically
• Experience managing relationships with external recruiters

What you’ll get

• Salary c. £25,000 – £30,000 + commission/bonus

Working Details
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). We’ve been working remotely throughout the coronavirus pandemic, but normally we’re based in our CodeBase office in Edinburgh. We typically work from 09:00 – 17:30 from Monday to Friday, though we can be flexible around this, just let us know.
We’re ideally looking for someone in/around Edinburgh, though we’re open to the possibility of this being a remote role. If you aren’t based near Edinburgh, we’d expect you to travel up to our Edinburgh office roughly once a month (when we return to the office) to spend time with the team and attend careers events to promote Dayshape.
