Since 2010, Davis & Company CPAs, a specialized, boutique public accounting firm located in Mount Pleasant, SC and serving the greater Charleston area, has been conducting audits, reviews and compilations for local nonprofits, homeowner associations and employee benefit plans. Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a motivated team player to be involved in all aspects of audit engagements from the planning phase to completing the wrap up.

Responsibilities:

• Lead audit and attestation engagements with guidance from the Audit Manager and/or Firm President
• Understand audit methodology and objectives while continuously building your technical knowledge including CPE to keep up with ever changing accounting and auditing standards
• Manage and complete engagements based on client deadlines in a remote environment
• Build and maintain a team environment and good working relationships with clients and all team members
• Effectively communicate status of projects regularly
• Work to resolve complex technical issues with the Audit Manager and Firm President as they arise
• Look for ways to improve audit efficiencies
• Exercise independent thinking by making decisions related to engagements

Qualifications:

• BS in Accounting or MBA
• CPA or on track to obtain
• 5+ years of recent audit experience progressing in scope and responsibility
• Experience performing assurance and tax services with non-profits, homeowner associations and employee benefit plans strongly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with team members at all levels as well as clients in order to effectively and timely communicate issues encountered throughout the audit
• Excellent organizational, time management, client service and PC skills
• Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
