Job purpose:

The role will play a pivotal part in leading the Finance team, working with colleagues across the business and our clients to ensure effective cash management and operational accounting.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day people management, leadership and development of the finance team;
• Responsible for the delivery of monthly P&Ls and balance sheet reconciliations complete with variance analysis and commentary;
• Managing cash collection to ensure aged debt objectives are met;
• Monthly reporting of collections and aged debt;
• Managing and overseeing the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions;
• Working closely with the Claims Solutions Finance Director and Finance Manager to achieve the overall business goals;
• Acting as an escalation point for the team; Handling queries from clients and colleagues and resolving problems; Month end and year end preparation;

Responsible for ensuring all statutory returns are prepared and submitted on time including VAT, CIS Taxation, ONS Returns;

Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company; Manage external relationships with bank and auditors where necessary;

• Other ad hoc duties;

Key Skills & Experience

· Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA

· Excellent communicator, able to work and influence across teams

· Excellent planning and organizational skills

· Previous experience of managing teams

· Forward thinker – able to demonstrate proactive problem solving

· Excel intermediate/advanced

· Able to work in a fast paced and continually changing environment

· Able to work as part of a close knit and developing team
