Davidson Charter Academy: CFA Hiring for Receptionist at Lexington, NC Full Time

Davidson Charter Academy in Lexington, NC is seeking candidates for the position of full-time Receptionist starting in July, 2023.

Receptionist

The Receptionist is vital to everyday operations of Davidson Charter Academy. The job of the School’s Receptionist is for the purpose of providing secretarial and clerical support to the Front Office Manager and/or Administration Staff. In this role, the Receptionist must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and visitors.

The Receptionist duties include, but are not limited to:

Reception

• Welcome, greet, and document all guests (ensuring that students only leave with authorized parents/guardians, monitoring and controlling access to the school, etc.)
• Manage visitor sign-in/sign-out system and procedures
• Manage student Tardy and Early Checkout logs and submit to the Student Data Coordinator
• Manage phones (answering calls, redirecting calls, taking messages, placing calls, etc.)
• Direct all inquiries, either in person or by phone, to the appropriate staff member
• Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with the administration, instructional staff, students, parents, and representatives of resource agencies within the community
• Follow appropriate protocols to ensure the safety and security of the school

Clerical

• Copy and/or distribute school wide memos
• Assist with receiving deliveries

Recruitment and Admissions

• Assist the Registrar with the enrollment and registration process when necessary
• Follow up with necessary phone calls to parents regarding enrollment information

School Lunch Program

• Assist Lunch Provider by organizing and/or arranging meal bags for classroom delivery

Health

• Conduct Temperature Screenings of students as needed
• Provide basic first aid medical care to ill or injured students
• Contact parents and make arrangements for transportation home as necessary

Supply Inventory & Maintenance

• Maintain office equipment and furnishings
• Assist Front Office Manager with substitute teacher asset distribution

Coverage

• Assist with non-instructional supervision of students, as needed, such as hallway monitoring, substitute teaching, lunch duty, or supervision of extracurricular activities
• Assist in moving students to proper locations during fire drills, and sports or arts programs
• Ensure the safety of students under one’s supervision

Other

• Embody the mission, vision, and core beliefs of Davidson Charter Academy
• Assist with other operations and academic projects, as needed
• Attend in-service professional development and staff meetings
• Teach and enforce the school-wide, clearly defined systems, structures, and rules, including before and after school and during transition times
• Be present at school daily Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., except for a 45 minute lunch break
• Complete receptionist or clerical tasks in a timely manner to support the school community
• Assist teachers with contacting parents regarding late pick-up
• Perform other duties, as assigned
• Perform assigned duties in the absence of the Front Office Manager

Ability To:

• Work confidentially with discretion and maintain a confidential environment
• Complete work with interruptions and work independently
• Communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner

Skills & Qualifications

10 1/2-Month Position following School Academic Calendar

HOURS: Full-time – 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM with a 45 minute break for lunch

SALARY: Based on Public School Employee Salary Schedule

Start Date: July 31, 2023

All employees at DCA are on one-year contracts. Contract renewal is contingent upon successful performance, completion of duties and expectations, as well as funding.
