Dart Container Hiring for Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Job at Mason, MI Full Time

You’ll work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on site at our corporate office in Mason, Michigan, and up to 2 days remote.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer‘s role is to administer and support Dart’s cloud infrastructure environment. The position includes participation in the design, development, installation, proactive monitoring, optimization, maintenance and support of all cloud infrastructure, including components in the areas of network, host compute, storage, and backup and recovery systems.

Day to Day Role:

• Plan, design, deploy, and maintain network, server hosts, storage systems, virtual machines, and backup and recovery systems and solutions within Dart’s cloud infrastructure space
• Actively work to maintain and develop expertise on relevant clout technology products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the cloud infrastructure industry
• Produce written documentation for proposals which describe solutions to business problems, including the equipment recommended, cost of the equipment, and time required to successfully (and fully) implement the solution
• Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintain current knowledge of plan executables and opportunities for where cloud can play a role in the recovery efforts
• Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair cloud infrastructure issues
• Communicate and coordinate cloud infrastructure maintenance, operational status, and downtime to users and management
• Perform analysis of business needs and contribute to design, architecture, integration, and installation of cloud infrastructure components
• Participate as a contributor in the implementation of projects, taking direction from various infrastructure Architects, Senior Engineers and/or project leads
• Provide guidance and instruction to other members of the team
• Monitor and identify cloud capacity and performance issues to maximize efficiency of our cloud systems
• Assist with the build and support of cost models and risk models for new solutions to determine if the best home for them is in the cloud or on premises
• Assist with the build and support of solution intake and evaluation process for items that will reside in the cloud space
• Stay current on new technology within our cloud space and make recommendations regarding changes to current standards and solutions as appropriate
• Oversee the short and long term management of cloud spend ensuring that we are staying within budget and utilizing the proper set of cloud SKUs to meet the needs of the business at the most effective cost point

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all the following:

• Requires on of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in computer science, information systems, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience managing cloud-based infrastructure in Azure (highly preferred) or a combination of Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience managing cloud-based infrastructure in Azure (highly preferred) or a combination of Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Two (2) years of experience managing on premise infrastructure in at least two of the following spaces: networking, virtual or physical server compute, storage, backup and recovery
• Experience with maintaining high availability and/or disaster recovery methodologies within cloud based or on-premises infrastructure
• Ability to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
• Requires a favorable motor vehicle report upon hire
• Additional work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Microsoft Server technologies experience
• Enterprise level network routing and switching management experience
• Azure Administrator certification
