Dandelion Collective Hiring for Finance & Bookkeeping Lead Job at Remote Full Time

The Psychedelic Society UK / Dandelion Collective is seeking an experienced Finance & Bookkeeping Lead to help us track and forecast our finances, supporting the sustainability of the organisation.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide quarterly reports on company financial performance, and work with the team to improve our financial systems and practices

• You’ll use Quickbooks to oversee company transactions and help us to use the software to its fullest potential to support the operations of the organisation

• You’ll set up a financial forecasting system using a Quickbooks-compatible package like Futrli

• You’ll use Google Sheets to support the organisation’s participatory budgeting processes

• You’ll establish and maintain a payroll & PAYE system within the organisation

• You’ll pay invoices, and prepare and reconcile company accounts, among other bookkeeping responsibilities

• You’ll manage relationships with our accountants, HMRC and our bank

Required:

• Very good knowledge of Quickbooks

• Good knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets

• An interest in keeping up with the latest financial and accounting apps and tech

• Good understanding of payroll & PAYE

• Great attention to detail

• Great time management skills

• Great communication skills

• A passion for the psychedelic movement

Bonus:

• Experience creating financial forecasts using Futrli or similar apps

• Experience with Stripe, GoCardless and Pleo

• Knowledge of Ruby or another programming language

• Experience working in a worker co-op or similar non-hierarchical organisation

Hours, Pay & Co-op Membership:

We imagine this to be a part-time role, initially requiring around two days a week of focused work, including meetings. But the successful candidate will be encouraged to make the role their own and provide feedback to us on what resources they feel are needed to do the best job.

Every quarter the organisation uses a participatory budgeting process to allocate funds to various projects and roles. Funds have been allocated to this role at the advertised rate for an initial period of 3 months, at which point there will be a review with the intention to continue funding this role long-term.

As a worker co-op, it is the organisation’s policy that anyone who contributes substantially to the work of the organisation for a period of one year will be invited to become a worker-member of the co-operative.
