Dana Canada Corporation Hiring for Production Supervisor Afternoon Shift at Oakville, ON Full Time

Production Supervisor – Afternoon Shift Hour 2:50pm – 11:20pm Monday to Friday

Dana Incorporated is a Fortune 500 Company and leader in the design and manufacture of vehicular motion and power-train parts. Its production plant at 1400 Advance Road in Oakville has been in operation for nearly 25 years in the production of vehicular thermal-management parts (heat exchangers). Customer requirements and new production launches have created an immediate opening for an Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor.

Reporting to the Plant Manager and working as a key member of the Plant Leadership Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

– Ensuring shift production and staffing optimize plant resources and hit daily safety, customer volume, quality and delivery targets;

– Collaborating with team leaders, quality staff, maintenance and engineering on both day-to-day and longer-term problem-solving to secure daily production targets and continuous improvements;

– Participating on plant teams relating to safety 5S, engineering, maintenance, training and quality to optimize performance through application of the Dana Operating (continuous improvement) System, along with related record keeping and system maintenance;

– Training and coaching production staff in a unionized plant, ensuring that workplace safety, communications, and employee engagement are top priorities;

– Implementing positive production and human resources changes, so that the plant can remain a leader in Dana in customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will have:

· Several years progressively responsible leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.

· Post secondary education in engineering technology, business administration or a related discipline.

· Possession of, or progress toward, a recognized supervisor/management certification.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, inter-personal and communications skills. Computer literacy.

· Track record demonstrating success in lean manufacturing, teamwork, change management and continuous improvement.

· Certification in Occupational Health & Safety Management is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
