As the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role within the senior leadership team and be accountable for driving the financial and commercial operation strategies for Damstra, connecting with the business to drive performance, manage business risk and develop / execute on strategic plans. It is a role which has high exposure and visibility to both internal and external stakeholders as well as to company’s global and corporate finance team.
You will report & work closely with CFO, leading the finance and accounting team to contribute to overall financial effectiveness and integrity, providing management and the Board with accurate fact-based information for making strategic and operational decisions, as well as ensuring accounting standards and polices are implemented and updated, and the control environment is maintained.
You will be responsible to manage overall compliance, tax, costing, financial planning, control and financial accounting and reporting. key responsibilities include but not limited to:
This role can be based either in Sydney or Melbourne. We can consider the role on a part time capacity if required, just that part time hours may extend for half year and year end to 100% FTE based on business requirement.
You will have a relevant accounting, economics or finance degree (CA or CPA membership is highly sought after) along with experience as a financial controller or senior management accountant ideally from a listed company. You will be commercially focused, have experience with SAP/Sage, excellent and up to date knowledge of AASB/IFRS and ASIC reporting, enjoy building relationships, have strong problem solving and communication skills and excel at leading people. You will have good working knowledge of taxation laws, including PAYG, FBT, GST, Payroll and income tax and be looking for an opportunity to optimise and transform the way things are done and ideally have experience in working for a SaaS company within a complex structure.
