Description
The data systems specialist provides hardware and software support for school libraries through virtual
and face-to-face meetings utilizing all tools available to resolve issues and works closely with the systems
specialist during the summer time to support the Library Automation System ILS LS2 and its associated
applications.
Qualifications
Provide hardware and software technical support to all district school libraries.
a. Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems when related to desktop computers.
b. Provides onsite support to Library Media Services in all technical equipment deployment and setup in the libraries
c. Interface with Technical Assistance Center regarding trouble ticket
d. Screen, refer, and diagnose internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to the maintenance of desktop computers and networking
e. Provide analytical, telephone, and in-person technical support to users of desktop computers and related peripheral equipment
f. Provides software support to district libraries: TLC Automation Icons, and Microsoft applications
g. Use a problem management system to document work performed, actions taken, referrals made, and problem disposition
h. Provides support to campuses in identifying out-of-date technology and the removal of such
Participates in opening, closing, weeding, or organizing libraries as directed.
Keep abreast of current and emerging technical and professional trends and developments affecting desktop computers and related peripheral equipment, and recommend modifications that will improve performance.
Serves as back-up to systems librarian for LMS.
Maintain the technology inventory through the District system for LMS.
