• Current campus locations include Brookings or Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Physical prototyping and development work happen at these locations, and applicant would need to have ability to report to one of these campus locations occasionally.

• Be a key member of the product development team that contributes to developments through:
  • Concept generation and prototyping.
  • Develop and execute test plans.
  • Detailed design using 3D CAD software (Creo).
  • Detailed analysis, which could include FEA software (ANSYS).
  • Documentation and communication of the concepts, prototypes, design, and analysis that you develop.

• Work in a team centric environment that is continuously evolving our practices:
  • Iterative development in Sprint based cycles.
  • Scrum Stand-ups and Product Backlog Planning Events.
  • Planful personal and technical growth and continued increases in contribution.
  • Utilize collaborative software (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Azure Devops, etc.) for team communication and planning.
  • Delegate to and coordinate work with coworkers and students.
  • Contribute to architecture design, work breakdown, and design reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill, or other similar CAD and PLM software, required.
• Experience with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
• General computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge required.
• Must be creative and a thoughtful problem solver.
• Must be able to make effective and timely decisions. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.
• Be self-motivated and curious to learn and grow throughout your entire career.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and excel in a collaborative team environment.
• Able to work on job sites and assist with installations. This may include climbing ladders, working at various heights, carrying equipment (50 lbs. or more), and working outdoors.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
