Our Demand Planner is responsible for the development and management of a demand planning & forecasting tool to

support the company’s aggressive growth. Responsibility includes ensuring data accuracy for short-term and long-

term demand at Daiya’s own facility and Co-Packers; reviewing current forecasts data with the Sales team; assisting

with the Sales and Operations (S&OP) process. This role is required to have strong interpersonal skills to provide

planning and forecasting support and expertise to cross-functional teams, such as Scheduling, Logistics, Purchasing,

Operations, and R&D.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the Sales Team to obtain promotional and total sales projection to build a weekly SKU-level

shipment forecast by DC.

• Ability to roll up the DC Forecast into to Weekly Production Forecast / Monthly Forecast
• Maintain an excel based forecast tool considering both baseline demand and promotional and marketing SKU

level lift as a key input to the demand signal.

• Create new forecasting tools and processes to increase efficiencies and productivity.
• Analyze forecast accuracy and bias to determine source of variance to correct demand signal.
• Provide data to the Purchasing and Scheduling team to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Work collaboratively between the Supply Chain and Sales team and communicate action plans on

supply/inventory.

• Collaborate with the Planning Team to ensure service levels and inventory carrying KPI’s are met.
• We are currently in the process of finalizing a demand planning system, assist with the roll-out and ability to

migrate the current excel based Forecast plans into the system.

• Prior understanding of Integrated Planning Systems is an asset (Syspro, SAP etc.)
• Additional duties may be assigned to support other Supply Chain projects or team members, or duties may be

changed to meet business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Relevant degree, diploma or experience in scheduling, demand planning, or inventory management
• At least five (5) years’ experience in Demand Planning and Food Manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of consumer-packaged goods in the food industry is an asset.
• Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision in high pressure environments.
