Cytokinetics Hiring for Director, Talent Acquisition at South San Francisco, CA Full Time

Cytokinetics is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which muscle performance is compromised and/or declining. As a leader in muscle biology and the mechanics of muscle performance, the company is developing small molecule drug candidates specifically engineered to impact muscle function and contractility.

As a key member of the Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT), the Director, Talent Acquisition will have strategic responsibility for providing vision, leadership, and team management to execute on efficient and effective talent acquisition programs and practices. The individual will be a proven leader with experience building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team and who has led a talent acquisition organization with measurable results. The individual will partner with hiring managers on their staffing needs; developing strategic and proactive recruiting techniques; and creating programs that are consistent with corporate goals, objectives, and values.

Responsibilities

• Develop a robust talent acquisition strategy to support the company’s growth trajectory for all groups and departments, driving performance across all talent acquisition disciplines to include branding, talent mapping, sourcing, assessment & selection, offer negotiations, etc.
• Build trusted relationships embedded in business operations working alongside the HR Business Partners to understand the business workforce plan, key functional and behavioral capability requirements, talent gaps, diversity and inclusion goals, and organizational design plans.
• Develop employer value proposition and employer brand marketing strategy leveraging social media platforms, networking and outreaches, speaker programs, etc.
• Prioritize building talent pipelines including university recruiting, professional recruiting, and executive recruiting ensuring that the company has a competitive advantage through the talent it attracts, develops, and retains.
• Provide counsel to business leaders and hiring managers on talent acquisition while exhibiting high business acumen, providing expertise on workforce trends and best practices.
• Create and analyze talent acquisition metrics and other recruitment KPIs to make informed decisions, drive performance, and ongoing process improvements.
• Stay abreast with market conditions for targeted sources and prepare distinct and effective recruiting approaches to those markets. Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices. Anticipate and identify current or future talent shortages, talent trends, new ways to identify external talent for the company.
• Continually develop and reassess the company’s overall recruitment strategies and make improvements as necessary in alignment with the company’s philosophy and strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Life Science or related field.
• 12+ years direct experience in full lifecycle in-house recruiting in biotechnology/pharmaceutical with 9+ years managing the recruiting/talent acquisition function.
• Experience bringing in talent in research, commercial, clinical, regulatory, and G&A. Prior experience supporting the build out of a commercial sales team and international workforce.
• Proven track record of creating and executing on recruitment strategies, including employer branding initiatives, scalable interview processes, candidate management, candidate experience and diversity sourcing.
• Ability to influence, engage and partner closely with appropriate partners across all levels of the organization.
• Strong communication with focus on providing high level of customer service and follow-through, organizational and negotiation skills.
• Must be very detail oriented and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, effective time management skills, pro-active approach, results and solutions oriented.
• Social media channels understanding and usage on the context of recruitment, attraction and employer branding.
• Experience in compensation and general HR requirements as it relates to recruiting. Demonstrated deep knowledge of co-employment practices, OFCCP, EEO, employment laws, regulations, and customs.

Salary pay range: $216,000 – $264,000. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.
