Contract extensions: 2 x 12 months

Rates: $110 – $140 per hour (inc. super)

The Modern Workplace Program is designed to deliver a contemporary IT experience for all AEC staff. The program addresses a number of legacy IT challenges the Commission has been facing, and modernise how we work moving forward.

The Commission is building labour hire capability within the program and require a Project Manager who ideally has experience with projects involved in migration from a legacy on-premise enterprise environment to cloud. Additional modules of the program is to manage a desktop hardware refresh and upgrade of our Wide Area Network across our offices nationally.

The Project Manager’s role is to actively develop and manage an Agile Scrum and Sprint delivery process. This will be achieved through working with the program team, technical and business stakeholders.

Tasks and responsibilities of this role will be:
1. Project governance and reporting as required by the Program Board, operating under the Agile framework;
2. Work with the project’s Program Manager and technical lead to define and manage the delivery of work packages utilising Scrum and Azure DevOps;

3. Identify and manage project risks and issues;
4. Lead workshops with internal stakeholders and actively deliver and review analysis artefacts (Azure DevOps Epics, Features and User Stories);

5. Implement effective change control;
6. Coordinate AEC staff to meet the project timeframes;

7. Support contract managers in establishing the new services arrangement;

8. Liaise with business and technical areas to facilitate the timely resolution of issues as they arise;
9. Produce technical and non-technical documentation as required;
10. Manage project resources effectively to deliver the required outcomes;

Attributes and Skills
1. Demonstrated experience in an Agile Project Manager role, including advanced knowledge of software development lifecycles of ICT Projects within a Federal government context.
2. Formal training in Project Management or Agile Scrum methodology, and experience working in an Agile project management practices preferred.

3. Ability to work in a team environment delivering a high level of customer service, with the ability to build strong working relationships and trust with clients, stakeholders and senior management

4. Demonstrated high level of communication skills with effective active listening and written communication skills.

5. Knowledge or experience working with Microsoft DevOps is highly desirable.
