DESE is leading the development of a new vocational education and training (VET) data collection and reporting system. The VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program will transform the national VET data system to increase the timeliness and quality of data collection and use. DESE is working with partner state and territory governments and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) to deliver this initiative through several strands of work over the next few years.

The position available will require the successful candidate to work cross-collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Key external stakeholders of VDS include State Training Authorities, Registered Training Organisations, Student Management System providers, Regulatory agencies, government program areas and Peak bodies.

We are looking for a Business Analyst to support the Senior Business Analyst in managing requirements across policy, business, data, user and ICT work streams, including gathering, documenting and analysing business requirements for the VDS program.
The role requires gathering and maintaining controls on requirements that will feed into solution development. The VDS program is complex, and the business analyst will need to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders.
