The Junior Accountant at Cycas Hospitality is dynamic and evolving. Working closely with the Central Finance Team, Senior Accountants, Senior Management, General Managers and Operational departments, you will produce informative and transparent reports that show critical thinking and allow for effective decision making. Your mission as Junior Accountant is posting of general ledger and transactional journals, support the end-to-end GL accounting activities, assist with payments run checks, perform reconciliation, assist with continuous improvement of the accounting function through innovative processes and procedures.

You will work together with the Senior Accountant and the finance and operational teams on property ensuring that the accounting processes are being well maintained and followed and that postings and reporting deadlines are being kept.

Your role will grow as the business grows, allowing for a lot of personal development and on-the-job experience as you take on your tasks. Under the guidance of the Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager and Finance Director – Group Accounting, you will assist with the insourcing of various legal entities, ensuring a smooth transition into the Cycas insource accounting systems landscape. You will also participate in additional projects and support the Insourcing Accounting Team on various projects to improve efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities

• Support the end-to-end GL accounting activities ensuring that transactional journals are being posted accurately and timely into the ERP for multiple assigned legal entities (prepayments, accruals, payroll, inventory, reallocations, etc)
• Support with the entire month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting close process for the multiple assigned legal entities
• Support with monthly Balance sheet and P&L fluctuation analysis, support the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and monthly reporting package for the multiple assigned legal entities
• Responsible for the completion of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for the multiple assigned legal entities
• Support with payment proposal checks and approval of aging creditors reports
• Ensure the month end process check list is being followed and the deadlines respected
• Assist with the preparations for audits and provide supporting schedules and back-up as required
• Weekly and monthly reconciliations by verifying entries and confirming reports to GL balances for A/R and A/P
• Assist with Cycas going digital initiative
• Contribute to the preparation and filing of the annual consolidated financial statements as well as preparation of the statutory financial accounts for the assigned entities
• Assist and support with the in-sourcing of the accounting services for legal entities ensuring a smooth transition of the accounting and integration into the Cycas’s system landscape
• Support on the set-up of the Autotask project
• Participation in Finance projects
• Any other task as assigned

Key skills & Requirements

• Local GAAP and USALI Framework knowledge
• Account management; liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Cash handling and tracking
• Strong multi-tasking ability
• Know-how on credit and collection policies and procedure
• Budgeting and an understanding of cashflow
• Functional knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel)
• Very good understanding of the ERP

• Written and verbal communication skills
