CVW CUSTOM VENEER WORKS INC Hiring for Production Worker – Custom Plywood and Veneer Mfg at Burnaby, BC Full Time

We are a well established custom manufacturer of wood veneer sheets and high-end architectural plywood panels, seeking a full-time or part-time production worker. Our shop is located only a few minutes walk from Royal Oak Skytrain station in Burnaby.

The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail and take pride in their work. Woodworking experience is preferred but not required if you can demonstrate a willingness to learn and strong work ethic. We operate equipment that very few people have experience with so our wages increase as quickly as you can learn and become proficient with our type of work. All necessary training will be provided. We are a relatively small, and close-knit shop, and the opportunity for advancement is great. Forklift experience is an asset.

Responsibilities:

– Grade and cut wood veneer using Double Knife Guillotines and End Clippers

– Mix adhesive and feed veneer bundles through Glue Applicator

– Set up and operate Crossfeed Splicer to produce specific sized veneer sheets

– Hand repair cracks and splits using veneer tape

– Count and prepare crates of veneer faces for shipping, or for pressing in house.

– Maintain general cleanliness of the shop and machinery.
