This position under the general supervision of the Plant Controller is responsible for carrying out tasks to complete the month-end financial closing process. The position’s month-end responsibilities include, but are not limited to, journal entry preparation and documentation, account reconciliation, and report preparation.

Common day-to-day responsibilities of this position include tracking fixed asset project status and preparing forms for processing, monitoring accounts payable processing issues and assisting with resolving them, fulfilling requests from internal and external auditors, and internal controls (Sarbanes-Oxley section 404, or SOX) compliance.

This position will also work with multiple departments within both CVR Partners and CVR Energy including Corporate Accounting, Planning, Internal Audit and Legal.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 – 4 years in Accounting experience required preferably in production/manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of production / manufacturing experience required
• Sound knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls required
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities
• Ability to handle complex tasks that require independent thought and analysis
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects in a fast paced environment
• Ability to be flexible and work well in a team environment
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite required
• Working knowledge of accounts payables a fixed asset accounting processes
• Working knowledge of accounting software required; Maximo and Oracle preferred
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet business demands
• Fluent in English, oral and written required
• Impeccable integrity, professionalism and ethical standards

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare certain plant level month-end closing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure timely and complete month-end financial closings
• Assist with maintaining Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) documentation and administer closure procedures for capital and expense projects, including associated asset retirements
• Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with cross-functional teams in operations, marketing, finance and other corporate departments to meet objectives.
• Review certain plant level invoices and general ledger coding
• Assist with the contractor timekeeping process
• Monitor accounts payable processing issues and work to resolve them
• Assist with the audit and review procedures for areas of responsibility and provide information as needed to independent auditors and internal auditors.
• Participate in SOX control documentation reviews and updates
• Perform additional duties as needed and requested by plant or corporate management
• Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and/or questions

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
