The Financial and Commercial Services team support the University in all finance related matters, enabling it to achieve its teaching and research outcomes.

In your role as Finance Business Partner, you will manage a small team of accounting professionals within the Finance Planning and Performance team, providing leadership in improving financial management within the assigned faculty/portfolio(s) and across the University. You will play a strategic role in influencing senior leadership decision making and enabling informed commercial decisions through sustainable, collaborative networks.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Full membership of an internationally recognised accounting body (e.g. ICAA or CPA) and ongoing maintenance of professional development.
• Demonstrated team leadership and management skills the ability to create and maintain effective customer focused and efficient team culture.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders, gaining their trust and being able to influence outcomes and business decisions.
• Demonstrated experience in recommending and making timely decisions in a self-assured way, being sufficiently flexible to understand and address others positions or decisions.
• Demonstrated experience in applying conceptual and analytical skills to produce, assess and interpret financial information (including business cases) in context, offering best practice solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide analysis of financial information in strategic, innovative and insightful ways.
• You will have a positive “can do” attitude and adopt a consistent and positive approach in times of stress and change.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines for multiple deliverables in a dynamic team structure.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to standards and methodologies.

You will also ideally have:

• Relevant experience in an aligned commercial organisation or the higher education sector
