Accounting Associate

We are a growing accounting firm located in Page, AZ next to beautiful Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe
Bend and are looking for an excellent member to join our team. We looked into cloning some of our own staff but unfortunately that’s not available yet… Or ethical. Either way, we need someone ASAP. We are ready with open arms for the right person to join our team.

Our recently-developed Client Accounting Services Department is looking to hire an Accounting Associate. This job is available for U.S. Residents for a FULLY REMOTE, full-time position with an option for an office should you wish to relocate. We will provide you with the materials you need, you bring the accountant’s brain. There is a lot of opportunity for growth in this position, we do a lot of learning around here! If you are ambitious, trustworthy, eager to learn and ready to kick your accounting career off in the right direction, this is the job for you.

Major responsibilities include:

• Client bookkeeping including but not limited to:
• Bank reconciliations, G/L account classifying & bank feed management
• Posting of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end adjusting journal entries
• Prepare basic financial statements for review
• Sales tax filing and other similar compliance requirements
• Minimal payroll processing – (we hopped on the Gusto train last year, it’s the best!)
• Occasional workers comp or other insurance audit responses, census surveys & information requests

• Help the team to meet deadlines, including coordinating with clients when we are missing necessary information to manage our workload in a timely manner

• Assist department as needed with special projects

Successful candidates will:

• Know all about debits and credits and why you live in an accrual world if you don’t
• Have excellent time management skills, and know when to reprioritize if a deadline is approaching. Our whole life revolves around various deadlines – this is very important!
• Have significant experience operating in a virtual working environment. (Working from home can be tough sometimes – are you up for it? Is staying at home all day actually your Happy Place?)
• Know what it means to provide outstanding customer service. Happy clients make for a happy job life!
• Have used Quickbooks desktop, Quickbooks Online or any other accounting software and actually knew what you were doing, not just going through the motions
• Not be scared by any of the following words: Monday.com, Bill.com, Gusto, Accounting CS, Google

Workspace, Microsoft Office, Ring Central, Onvio – we like fancy software around here, anything to make our lives easier and more efficient!

• Have an ability to work independently and with minimal direction. Our entire workload is available for the whole firm to see, there are no surprises when it comes to what work needs to get done next

• Not feel afraid to ask for help when needed. Seriously, help is always just a phone/door/text/email/smoke signal away – Please utilize it

• Consistently demonstrate ability to stay organized, detail oriented, and accurate with tasks assigned
• Be reliable and actually want to be part of the team and thrive together

Job Type: Full-time, flexible schedule FULLY REMOTE position with a solid but not required option for an in-person office here in Page, AZ.

Pay Range: $45,000 to $72,000 annual salary depending on experience

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift, primarily available between 9:00am MST and 5:00pm MST
• Monday to Friday
• Fridays off during Off-Season months (May-August 15th and October-January 15th)

Education:

• College degree preferred but not required. Seriously, if you feel you have relevant experience do not let the absence of a degree deter you from applying!

• CPA license or candidate (preferred)
• Extra Bonus Points if you have or have started a degree in the Accounting industry

Experience:

• QuickBooks Online: 1-3 years (Preferred)
• Administrative experience: 1-3 years (Preferred)
• We will train the right candidate for the job
