About the Opportunity

The Educator – OOSH role is responsible for undertaking the day to day operations of the centre and must be committed to educate and nurture children from all communities. The Educator – OOSH must be respectful, resilient and confident by providing children an environment that is accepting, inspiring and safe.

The successful applicant will require:

• Relevant qualifications in an education and care related discipline (or working towards with completion within 12 months) or equivalent experience in a similar role
• Valid Working with Children Check Clearance Number
• Child Protection course approved by the NSW Regulatory Authority (s162A Education and Care Services National Law) (or willing to obtain)
• Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate as approved by ACECQA (or willing to obtain)
• Completion of Food Handler/Safety Training (or willing to obtain)
• Current class C drivers licence
• Proven skills and experience in the following areas:
  • Education and care
  • Customer service
  • Communication skills in written and oral format
  • Computer operating systems
  • Effective time management and organisational skills

Salary: Employment is in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 5 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $29.05 to $33.41 per hour, plus superannuation.

The commencement salary will depend upon the successful applicant’s qualifications, experience and competencies.

Conditions of Employment: There are permanent and term contract, part-time positions available and will be required to work on a roster Monday to Friday, between 6:00am to 6:00pm, and will include split shifts.

These positions are located at Ringrose OOSH, Guildford West OOSH and Parramatta West OOSH, but may be required to work across any of Council’s 16 Education and Care centres.

  • 1 x term contract, part-time position required to work 30 hours per week (up to 12 months)
  • 1 x term contract, part-time position required to work 15 hours per week (up to 12 months)
