JOB PURPOSE
The primary objective of the Controller is to apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Ensure that the Casino is run efficiently by providing valuable financial information and accurate record keeping. Responsible for coordinating and managing all functions pertaining to General Ledger, Revenue, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Cage and Pull/Count team, in accordance with the established policies, procedures and controls of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Overall direction, administration and coordination of all activities of the accounting department, in accordance with the mission and objectives, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.
2. Acts as resource to department managers on accounting/budget related issues and participates in monthly financial statement review.
3. Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
4. Develops schedules, procedures and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment and reporting of financial data.
5. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
6. Designs and implements current budgets and collects and reviews accounting data.
7. Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
8. Ensures compliance with approved policies and procedures, Gaming Commission regulations, and Internal Controls.
9. Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
10. Responsible for hiring, retaining, promoting, performance evaluations, training, disciplining and terminating team members.
11. Effectively use, administer, and manage rewards and recognition for front line team members.
12. Supervises and assists revenue audit manager, cage/vault manager, purchasing coordinator and assistant controller as needed.
13. Review the performance, productivity, and efficiency of team members including, but not limited to, periodic evaluations.
14. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Other duties as assigned to facilitate the efficiency of Casino operations.
2. Operate as an emergency Pull/Count Team member as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in accounting, or equivalent work experience of six to ten years with progressively responsible experience in the accounting industry, preferably in the gaming industry. CPA preferred.
2. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
3. Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications; Great Plains Dynamics, Oasis – Black Bart, Infogenesis, Kronos, and Casino Insight
4. Knowledge of Federal and state financial regulations.
5. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
6. Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
7. Use of all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for spreadsheet, reporting, and presentation development.
8. Ability to have a flexible schedule to provide for Casino requirements.
9. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress/profile environment.
10. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

1. Ability to prepare, read, and interpret documents; write reports and correspondence; and speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
2. Ability to compose grammatically correct documents.
3. Ability to verbally communicate using appropriate English standards of language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
LICENSING
Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation law
