THE OPPORTUNITY

This role has the following three primary components:

1. Being the subject matter expert in the Financial Resources service line

2. Alongside client-allocated Relationship teams, provide research and product expertise support across the largest Investment Banks

3. Support the development of the Financial Resources service line across our entire client base

1. Subject Matter Expert

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of global Investment Banking industry, current trends and challenges as well the Global Functions that service this industry
• Present analytical output related with benchmarking to key audience across the banking Groups focusing on CAO/COOs, CFOs and senior management
• Manage large data sets and a common taxonomy structure despite multiple different in banks structure
• Help and guide the competitor private team in India, covering Cost, RWA, and Balance sheet benchmarking which will require to demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting standards for banks and its impact on income statement, bank cost structure, balance sheet and capital position of the division and group overall

2. Business and IP Development for Client Analytics

• As part of the global Research team, contribute to the further design and definition of components of Analytics product offering (features, metrics etc.) to meet client needs
• Alongside the Relationship Management and Business Development team, market IP and Analytics to identified client organisations and participate in pitches to and presentations to current/prospective clients
• Contribute to the development of the IP and Analytics

3. Project Management and Delivery

• With the Relationship Management teams, deliver the Financial Resources service in line with annual delivery schedules, attending delivery meetings in person or via VC/call
• Prepare projects and analytics ready to present to clients in line with contractual remit and timeframes
• Work closely with the Analytics centre in Mumbai on execution of project and deliveries

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Relevant career experience likely to have been gained over 15+ years in a broad based role either within a bank or financial services practice of a consulting firm / analytics company
• Previous experience in managing benchmarking or similar processes in Coalition or similar firm
• Proven ability to work as part of a team, building rapport with clients and colleagues
• Effective, sharp, clear and succinct communication skills, both verbal and written, and the confidence to have challenging dialogues with senior executives
• A strong understanding of difference in regulation and accounting principles between UK, US, Continental Europe and Switzerland
• Experience in analysing large data sets and create trends among complex and unstructured data sets
• Ability to manage and guide a team of skilled staff located in India and London
• Some understanding of banking regulation, including Basel 3, FRTB and Leverage Ratio regulation, as well as implication on the industry as a whole
• Academically the candidate is likely to be a graduate from a top University and will have studied finance and statistics in their chosen course of study
• Proven project management and delivery skills
• Highly numerate and analytical, with strong attention to detail
• Highly proficient in all essential software applications – particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven ability to develop, negotiate and manage assignments to completion
