Extracurricular and Leadership Mentoring

Crimson Education, one of the world’s leading Educational Technology companies, are looking to recruit highly skilled professional mentors. We are specifically looking for individuals from some of the top universities worldwide, or someone who holds a wealth of experience within their field.

Our extracurricular and leadership team is continuing to grow, and during the year 2022 we wish to add several new mentors to our team. Please note this is a contract-based position, ideally suited to people who are already working in their specific field, experienced mentors, or individuals studying an advanced degree at a top university.

As a Crimson Extracurricular and Leadership (ECL) mentor, you’d be working with students to A) to develop and execute a personalised leadership project that demonstrates their interests, ingenuity, and initiative. The leadership project is a vital component of their college application process. And B) assist them expand their extracurricular profile, by way of pursuing further leadership opportunities (inside and outside of a school setting) and considering activities in a range of different interest areas.

Popular project types and subject areas include:

• Non-profit/community service
• Entrepreneurship/Start-up’s
• Computer Science
• Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc)
• Physics
• Biology and Medical Sciences
• Law
• Performance, Theatre, and Fine Arts

If you have a skillset, a strong educational background, or professional profile that matches the above areas, and you have a passion for education and mentorship, you’d likely be a great candidate for ECL Mentoring! Additional qualities of an ideal ECL mentor include strong project management and organisational skills, an attention to detail, and fantastic written and verbal communication skills.

Service Expectations:

As a provider of the standard ECL Service, you will be expected to provide students with guidance and support as it relates to their extracurricular profiles and leadership projects. Core responsibilities include:

• Helping students research and pursue extracurricular activities relevant to their interests
• Supporting students with development and ultimately submitting a Leadership Project Proposal, Pitch Video, and Completion Form
• Developing a project management plan for your student’s leadership project and conducting biweekly to monthly sessions to aid the student in its execution of the project
• Remaining with paired students until completion of their project.
• Liaising with the ECL Admin team and the student Strategist to ensure that the student’s ECL program is on track and their experience is satisfactory
