Cricket Australia Hiring for SQUADS – Social Media Coordinator Job at Australia Full Time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Social Media Coordinator to join our Communications, Marketing & Digital team on a contract until 30 June 2023.

Reporting to the SQUADS – Fan Engagement Manager, you’ll be responsible for playing a key role in the coordination and moderation of the Cricket Australia “SQUADS” online and social media pages, groups and overall presence. The SQUADS program connects local communities from across Australia into a broader community network, giving them an opportunity to celebrate their culture and share the stories of local community heroes. It’s a vehicle to bring more people from diverse backgrounds to cricket to participate as players, umpires, coaches and fans.

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:
Social Media Moderating

• Monitoring the social media content posted within the “SQUADS” communities to ensure members are using acceptable language and engaging in a positive way in line with the group rules
• Developing and implementing clear guidelines for content moderation
• Developing working relationships with SQUADS members in the online community
• Directing online discussions and conversing with members to promote engaging topics of discussion
• Removing/reporting objectionable and/or potentially negative or harmful comments from the “SQUADS” pages
• Connecting with our social communities in an engaging, personality fuelled manner, maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice across community channels

Marketing & Social Media Activities

• Attending community events and assisting in the production of community video content
• Assisting with the planning, development and publishing of content for the Cricket Australia social media channels
• Assisting in creating awareness for events and connecting with our fans through the delivery of engaging content that will drive conversation
• Assisting the SQUADS – Social Media Lead (Fan Engagement) with other events and initiatives as required
• Assisting the Marketing & PR team with any activities and initiatives as required

About you

You’ll have:

• Working knowledge of social media platforms and how to manage a variety of accounts and pages
• Passion for creating content to connect with a diverse range of audiences
• An ability to speak a language other than English
• Excellent communication, organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Experience building positive relationships with a broad range of both internal and external stakeholders
• An ability to work in a fast-paced and agile team environment, with the ability to problem solve on the go
• An attitude and love for personal growth and development
• Strong understanding of different cultures and communities and able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences
• A willingness to travel and work weekends and public holidays when required

The following skills and experience are not essential, but will be highly regarded:

• Experience working with a demographic from diverse backgrounds and communities
• An excellent knowledge of cricket
• Experience working in the sporting industry
• Experience creating engaging video content
• Experience using content creation software (eg. Adobe Suite)
