Credit Suisse Hiring for Research Analyst – Diversified Financials & Insurance – Sydney, Australia Job at Sydney Full Time

An opportunity to work alongside high-performing and experienced analysts to assist coverage of Diversified Financials (BNPL, wealth platforms eg Netwealth, asset managers, exchanges, fintech) and Insurance (general insurance, health insurance, brokers) through analysis of industry macro trends and company financials. Collaborating across sector and macro teams to produce commercial and insightful investment views for clients.

As well as reviewing and analyzing business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings and other sources to gather, synthesize and interpret data on the sector and relevant listed and unlisted companies within. Building, maintaining and updating industry databases as well as detailed financial models for earnings forecasts and valuations. Preparing and publishing thought-provoking, relevant research reports and providing timely updates for the firms’ institutional clients.

You will also have engagement with executive / management teams and industry experts to facilitate corporate access across listed and unlisted companies and better understand industry / company trends. Interacting and engaging with institutional investors with the senior analyst with potential for stock coverage in the medium term.

• 2 years or more proven experience in Equities Research or a similar investment role, or a background in Accounting, Finance and/or Corporate Finance.
• A commercial role in another industry will also be considered, but would require a demonstrable interest in finance/equity markets and/or experience with analysis and valuation.
• Experience within advice, wealth management, insurance, payments, tech or any financial services would be of interest but is not essential.
• Having a good understanding of equity markets, experience in mastering industry coverage quickly, skills in fundamental financial analysis and valuation as well as ability to generate strong investment ideas are all key advantages.
• Partial or completed qualifications such as Chartered Accountant/Chartered Financial Analyst/MBA/Actuarial are preferable.
• Outstanding commercial acumen, communication, presentation, verbal and strong written proficiency in English.
• A strong analytical mind, numerical skills, intellectual curiosity, a ‘self-starter’ attitude and a high level of attention to detail.
• Being able to work in Sydney, Australia as part of a diverse team environment, cross collaborating with connected teams regionally and globally.
