Credit Suisse Hiring for Financial Accountant Job at United Kingdom Full Time

• Group financial and regulatory reporting for Credit Suisse AG, Guernsey Branch, one of the Group’s material legal entities.
• Prudential reporting to the local regulator, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, for a licensed bank with a balance sheet size of USD 53 billion.
• Helping prepare governance reports, involving collaboration with a range of other functions such as Treasury, Operations, Credit Risk Management.
• Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and an active need to continually assess and adhere to a robust control framework.
• Active contributions to various high-profile projects such as LIBOR replacement and system development work.
• Engaging externally with key parties such as our tax advisers and administrators of the Deposit Compensation Scheme.

The successful candidate will be a member of the Legal Entity Finance function headed by the local Chief Financial Officer. This is a highly experienced and adaptable team focused on working collaboratively to deliver high quality accounting and reporting for the business.

The team have a flexible and proactive approach and you will be expected to support the wider team by contributing to tasks outside of your day-to-day responsibilities where appropriate.

• The role requires a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Three or more years’ experience where you have demonstrated the application of accounting knowledge in a professional capacity. Experience of the banking industry is not necessary.
• You should be highly organised, able to work independently, and demonstrate accountability for your areas of responsibility.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel. In addition, you would need to be comfortable learning about new systems and embracing a range of technologies. Past experience of using relational databases may also be an advantage.
• Strong technical accounting expertise under US GAAP and Swiss GAAP and regulatory reporting under the Basel framework. In addition to grasping concepts quickly using resources, you are expected to see these through to practical implementation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences. This includes proactive liaison with other functions at various levels (including senior management) and representing the function at cross-divisional project forums.
• Partnership and teamwork, including provision of cover to/from Legal Entity Finance Guernsey colleagues and supporting line manager with reviews, training and planning.
