Creative Lives seeks experienced educators and parents working with youth in the early years through high school to train in our holistic approach — towards becoming Facilitators in a national, holistic education movement.
About our non-profit: Creative Lives is a Vermont-based nonprofit founded in 2014 to advance a holistic approach to teaching and parenting. We apply author Ellen Tadd’s pioneering Framework for Wise Education to learning environments for youth and offer multi-level training in her Framework to aid educators, administrators, parents, and caregivers. Practitioner outcomes demonstrate significant improvements for students in academic achievement, resolving anxiety, building self-esteem, cultivating emotional wellbeing, and developing resilience; 94% of trainees report gains in their own well-being.
About our approach: Creative Lives Founder and Director Maureen Burford looked outside the box to answer questions like: How can we deal with the stresses of teaching in challenging times? How can we inspire students to engage in learning— and help them develop as whole, healthy people? She found detailed answers in the work of author and counselor Ellen Tadd.
Tadd has discovered the fundamental role the human energy system (or chakra system) plays in human development. Her approach, A_ Framework for Wise Education®,_ uses this knowledge to orient teaching and learning to support children’s wellbeing and potential.Applying this Framework helps educators cultivate their own wisdom and well-being — and helps children foster a love of learning, tackle challenges, form positive relationships, and develop their unique gifts. Tadd’s Framework can be integrated into any educational setting or curriculum.
“I can’t believe the results I am seeing with this approach.
I find students applying the tools and strategies on their own now.
They have become more focused, confident, better able to listen
and learn – and more supportive of each other’s growth as well.”
— Stuart C., educator and Framework practitioner
Internship Track Positions:
The Internship opportunity includes several phases. In the first phase, participants will train in Foundations 1 and Foundation courses in our Framework. The workload for each 9-week course is approximately 5 hours/week, including a weekly Zoom class meeting.
Foundations 1 commences on Monday, Sept 19th from 7-8:30 pm ET for nine weeks of training. There will be a Tuesday night class option (same hours) in the likelihood the course fills. Successful completion of Foundations 1 allows for continuation into the next course.
Foundations 2 commences on Wednesday, January 18th from 7-8:30 pm for nine weeks of training (with a potential second class on Thursday evenings).
Both classes will be available for college credit via Southern New Hampshire University. Partial to full scholarships are offered those accepted into the internship track, depending on need.
Course descriptions can be found online at: www.creativelives.org under programs for educators.
The second phase of the Internship program includes supervised opportunities in the field as well as opportunities to co-teach in this approach with Creative Lives Director Maureen Burford. This phase includes a paid stipend to accomplish the goals of the Internship. Successful interns will then be licensed and supported as Framework Facilitators, joining a national consortium of educators/parents committed to advancing this approach.
